Kanchenjunga trekking is one another most thrilling trekking destination in Nepal. This sort of trekking trail is hardly found anywhere in the world. It is one of the unspoiled trekking trails in eastern part of Nepal. It was open in 1988 for trekkers. Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586m) is the world’s third highest mountain, offers a variety of landscapes, cultures and panoramic views of the Himalayas including the Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Kanchenjunga itself, the four of the worlds five highest mountains. Therefore trekking in this route makes the trek rewarding. Mt. Kanchenjunga lies on the border of Nepal and Sikkim (India). Kanchanjunga area is the inhabitant of Sherpas ethnic groups who are rich in culture and tradition. Rais, Chhetris, Brahmans are other ethnic groups in this region. Monasteries, Chhortens, temples, prayer walls are the representation of this area. Following the trekking route, blue sheep are mostly found here and it is also believed that the abominable snowman ‘YETI’ exists in the region. The region is protected by the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area Project (KCAP), which spread in an area of 2,035 sq. km. It is a rich diversity of wildlife including snow leopard, Himalayan black bear, musk deer red panda and others varies species of birds including Amphibian, pheasant, red-billed blue among others.
