Bhutan also called the “Land Of Thunder Dragon” is a small and landlocked Himalayan Kingdom in South Asia bordered with Tibet in north and India in the south, east, and west. You can explore ancient culture and traditions, majestic monasteries, beautiful landscapes, magnificent architecture, snow-capped mountains, diverse ecosystem of Floras and Faunas and many more. The Snowman Trek is one of the most challenging treks in Bhutan. This trek leads through the most remote areas up to very high altitudes.The Snowman trek is the highest altitude treks as trek passes beneath six mountains over the 7,000m/22,960ft. This trek is one of the most challenging treks because you have to Cross nine passes over the 4,500m/14,760 ft.

Bhutan Snowman trek starts with arrival in Pako- Bhutan and leads to the remote Lunana in northern Bhutan via Lingshi and Laya and further on to Gangkhar Puensum and Bumthang. Trekkers have to camp in high altitudes, and depending on the seasonal temperature, the camp sometimes will be in the snow. Gangla Karchung La (5,230m/17,154ft), Jaze La (5,251m/17,224ft), Loju La (5,155m/16,908ft), Rinchen Zoe La (5,332m/17,489ft) are some of the highest passes that you have to cross during this trekking. During this trek, you will see amazing mountain scenery, beautiful landscapes, floras and faunas, Buddhist Monastery and Monuments, Old paintings and much more. After a tough trekking at Bhutan flight back to Kathmandu.

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

Arrive in Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu Nepal (1,300m/4,264ft) and transfer to Hotel then Alliance Adventure will brief about your trip Bhutan Snowman Trekking. Overnight at Hotel – Included Breakfast & Dinner

Day 02: Flight to Paro

Flight from Kathmandu to Paro by Druk Air, introduction to the spectacular beauty of our country and magnificent views of the world’s highest peaks Mt. Everest, give way to the lush green Paro valley as you land. Bhutan agency will welcome you on arrival and after lunch drive to the sightseeing in Paro Rimpung Dzong, Ta Dzong Museum, the center of civil and religious authority in this region. Overnight at Hotel – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 03: Explore in Paro

After Breakfast drives to Drukgyel Dzong to see the View of Mt. Chomolhari (7,315m/23,993ft). After that Hike to Taktsang Monastery which is the most important pilgrim site for Buddhists. The Guru Rimpoche said back of a tigress when he brought the teachings of  Buddhist Dharma at Bhutan in the 8th Century. Afterwards drive to the ruins of the 17th Century Drukgyel Dzong, and 7th Century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples constructed by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo. Day 04: Paro to Punakha

Today the journey to Punakha via Dochula pass (3,050m/10,004ft) and during the journey you can see magnificent forests of rhododendron and magnolia, the panoramic view of the eastern Himalayas and enticing views from the pass. After lunch enjoys the view of Dzong, built in 1637 during the time of Shabdrung. Now the Dzong used as a winter residence of the Monk body and it is built in between two Rivers, which is called Mo –Chu, and Po – Chu. “ Means” (Female & Male). Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 05: Trek to Damji

Trek from Tashithang to Damji (2,250m/7,380ft) 5/6 hours. The trek leads from today through of the riverside and forests. This part of the area is quite wet and walk slowly as carefully for leeches. Along with trek wild orchids flowers, The trek gentle climbs up to Damji village. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 06: Trek to Gasa

Trek from Damji to Gasa (2,900m/9,512ft) 6/7 hours. The trail through subtropical forests and villages up to Gasa Tsachu (hot spring). The Tsachu is a famous place where many people from all over Bhutan come to bathe for its curative powers. There are four pools, ranging from mild to hot to suit the temperature. Hot lunch will be served here. After lunch continues to climb up to camp side of Dzong. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 07: Trek to Chamsa

Trek from Gasa to Chamsa (3,650m/11,972ft) 6/7 hours. After breakfast visit to Dzong which was built in the 17th century to protect the valley against Tibetan invaders. The trek leads to Bele La Pass (3,700m/12,136ft) and trails through into the bamboo and rhododendron forests. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 08: Trek to Laya

Trek from Chamsa to Laya (3,800m/12,464ft) 8/9 hours. Today the trek will be a bit longer than a day and the trek through by bank of Mo Chu River. The trails lead up and down of hillside, to avoid the steep spur. After lunch across the river bridge, gradually climb up to Laya via crossing the army camp. Day 09: Rest and Acclimatization

After breakfast explore the Laya villages of culture and in the evening cultural dance by local women comity if would have interesting see the Laya culture.  Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 10: Trek to Rhodophu

Trek from Laya to Rhodophu (4,350m/14,268ft) 8/9 hours. After breakfast trek leading to the army camp and continue following the river after that trek into the rhododendron forest. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, lunch & Dinner

Day 11: Trek to Tarina

Trek from Rhodophu to Tarina (3,980m/13,054ft) 10 to 11 hours. This is one of the longest days of your trip. Today you have to start your trek early morning because you have to complete of 2 summits of the pass in this trail.  the 1st summit of a pass to Tsimola (4,700m/15,416ft) from the pass you will enjoy the magnificent views of Lunana, Chomolhari, and Jichu Drakey.  After that trek through to another summit of pass Gangla Karchung La Pass (5,080m/16,662ft), in this pass, you will see more amazing spectacular panorama views of Masagang, Tsende Gang, and Teri Gang seeing from the pass then the trail leads to Tarina. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 12: Trek to Wache

Trek from Tarina to Wache (3,800m/12,464ft) 6/7 hours. After breakfast, the trail leads river side of views scenery’s, coniferous forest.  The first village since Gasa then treks through to the village of Woche. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 13: Trek to Lhedi

Trek from Woche to Lhedi (3,650m/11,972ft). The trek through into the fir forests and rhododendron gushes continues Keche la pass (4,480m/14,610ft) where you can really enjoy the great views of the Himalayan. After the pass, trail walk to the riverside scenery’s, views of Table Mountain and more. The trail follows up the river after one of the main sources of Pho Chu to Lhedi village. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 14: Trek to Thanza

Trek from Lhedi to Thanza (4,000m/13,120ft) 7 to 8 hours. The trek continues following the river, rising gradually to Choejong village then visit Choejong Dzong and continue towards the wide valley, after crossing the bridge you will be in Thanza.  Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 15: Day of Rest in Thanza

After breakfast explore the Thanza and enjoy your rest of day. Overnight at Camp – B.L.D

Day 16: Trek to Tsorim

Trek from Thanza to Tsorim (5,150m/16,892ft) 8/9 hours. The during your trek today you will enjoy with great views of Table Mountain and Thanza valley. The trail leads up gradually to 4,650m/15,252ft near Foot Bridge, and towards the left side of the bridge enjoying the views of the snow peak mountains and continues towards to Tsorim Valley. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 17: Trek to Gangkar Phuensum Base Camp

Trek from Tsorim to Gangkar Phuensum Base Camp (4,970m/16,301ft) 6 to 7 hours. After breakfast hike to Tsorim lakes and enjoying the panoramic views of the Gophula ranges. After that trek through to Guphola Pass (5,230m/17,154ft). After the pass enjoys the great views of Gangkar Phuensum and Those who have a lot of energy can climb up to pyramid peak for better views and if you don’t want to climb up there towards to base camp. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 18: Rest of day in Base Camp

After breakfast hike to the glacier of Gangkar Phuensum and relax in Camp. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 19: Trek to Geshe Woma

Trek from Base camp to Geshe Woma (4,200m/13,776ft) 7 to 8 hours. After breakfast, the trek leads beautiful mountains, the trails through Sha Chu and gradually walk to Geshe Woma. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, lunch & Dinner

Day 20: Trek to Warathang

Trek from Geshe Woma to Warathang (4,000m/13,120ft) 8 to 9 hours. Today the trek following continues Sha Chu two and half-hours until the stiff climb to Sakala begins. Visibility along the Sakala trail is poor so one must watch the top of the ridge for guidance. After lunch trek through to Sakala pass (4,800m/15,744ft) and another short walk of distance again pass the Wartangle pass (4,590m/15,055ft). Along the trek will enjoy of scenery’s, small lakes and around the mountain peaks.  Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 21: Trek to Dur Tsachu 5 hours

Trek from Warthang to Dur Tsachu 5 hours. After short walk trek over the Juelela Pass (4,400m/14,432ft). After the pass, the trails lead Riverside, rhododendron, juniper and conifer forest. After the bridge toward to Dur Tsachu hot spring, where Guru Padmasambhava is supposed to have bathed in this hot spring. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 22: Trek to Tshochenchen

Trek from Dur Tsachu to Tshochenchen (3,850m/12,628ft) 8 to 9 hours. After breakfast, it is a long and steady climb again with great views of the mountains in Lunana. One comes across blue lakes and yak herders camps to arrive at the Thochechen. Overnight at Camp – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 23: Trek to Jakar

Trek from Tshochenchen to Jakar. Today is the last day of your trekking. The trail leads Chamkhar Chu as gradually climb to your last destination in Dur Village and your guide will change your carrying trekking gears from Yak and ponies to transportation, then drive to Bhumthang. Overnight at Hotel – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 24: Drive to Gangtey to Wangdi

Drive from Jakar to Gangtey to Wangdi 8 hours. After breakfast explore to Gangtey Gomba was built in small hillock surrounded by the blue pine trees and it was found by Pema Lingpa. The great Bhutanese saint from Bumthang in the 16th century and Nyimpa Monastery.

At the end of 17th century it was enlarged once and at present it is headed by the 9th reincarnation called Gantey Trulku. At present, it is under renovation and it rings with family’s house of Gomchens (Layman) who work and worship at a monastery.

The journey continues to Phobjikha valley. This place is reserved for the migration of black Neck Crane. The people out here have become friendly with the endangered species and every consecutive year starting from 2nd week of November to 1st week of April. The fields and marshes of this undisturbed valley are true sights as you watch the cranes. Overnight at Hotel – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 25: Drive to Thimphu to Paro

Drive from Wangdue to Thimphu to Paro 5 hours. Early breakfast and explore the Wangdi after that journey to Thimphu visit Textile Museum, Folk Heritage Museum, Changangkha Monastery and if you are lucky to arrive on Sunday for the market festival, is very interesting place to see a lot of people’s gather to sell their things from Handicraft to vegetables after that drive to Paro. Overnight at Hotel – B.L.D

Day 26: Flight back to Kathmandu and Farewell Dinner

Flight from Paro to Kathmandu Tribhuvan International Airport. Today after breakfast Bhutan travel agency send you to Paro International Airport. Bhutan agency guide wishes you a safe and pleasant your journey back to your home and hopes to see you again in Bhutan.  Alliance Adventure staff will come to pick-up you in the international airport in Kathmandu then transfer to Hotel and free. Day 27: Departure to Tribhuvan International Airport

Today is last minutes shopping and packing  and Alliance Adventure drive to the International airport for your onward destination to your own country. Included Breakfast

  • Entrance to some temples may be prohibited for non-Hindus and Leather articles are prohibited inside temple precinct.
  • Windproof outer jacket and warm down-filled jacket if afraid of cold.
  • Comfortable trousers for men and loose skirts for women during the day.
  • Gloves, hat or cap, sunglasses, sunblock, lip balm, etc, to avoid sunburn as the sun in high altitude can be quite intense.
  • Lightweight trekking shoes, warm woolen/ thermal socks. (If one is afraid of cold, otherwise, plain ol’ ordinary socks will suffice.
  • Thermal undergarments this is for the night which might be a bit cold, otherwise, tracksuit should suffice.
  • Sandal & Shower shop, Shampoo, Toothpaste, tooth brush, Toilet pepper, Tawal etc.
  • Water bottle /Thermos flask for hot water (2 litters bottle).
  • Day bag pack around 30 to 35 litters.
  • If you taking any regular medicines.
  • You have to bring your own energy bars during your  Bhutan tour if you filling hungry on the way or at night.
  • Flashlight and spare batteries.
  • You must start to train yourself when you are free once a week or one day hiking in Mountain 5/6 hours.
  • We need your flight detail and passport photocopy and passport size photo for the Bhutan visa and Bhutan trekking permit.
