Gokyo Ri and Cho La Pass Trek is one of the frequently organized trekking routes by Alliance Adventure Pvt. Ltd. It is one of the combined trekking routes in order to impart tourists including you to offer a unique and unforgettable experience with awesome views of the world’s highest and most beautiful mountains– Mt. Everest (8,848 m). This is one of the most famous trekking routes in the Khumbu region. The Cho La Pass (5,420m) is one of the most popular and spectacular destinations for adventure seekers. While having trekking to Gokyo Ri, Cho La Pass and Everest Base Camp Trek route you will have the superb views of the majestic Himalayas including of Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt Lhotse (8516m), Mt. Nuptse (7855m),  Mt. Amadablam (6856m), Mt. Thamserku (6723m), Mt. Kantega( 6685m), Mt.Kusum Khagaru (6367m),Mt. Kongde (6011m), Mt. Khumbila (5761m), Mt. Twache peak (6367m), Mt. Cholaste (6335m), Island peak (6179m), Lobuche peak (6145m), If you are lucky, sometimes, you also can spot various rare animals such as musk dears, leopards, jackals, mountain Thar, birds such as Pheasant, long tails birds. Besides, you will have the chance to explore the beautiful blend of Sherpa culture, while having trekked through this route.

The trekking to Gokyo Ri, Cho La Pass and Trek area either begins from Kathmandu to Lukla, the heart of the Everest Region, then around 3 hours walk from the airport you will reach the first stop at Phakding and continue trip to the north up to the Dudh Kosi Valley and Namche Bazaar. Next day, the trekking continues to Pheriche, where you will have some magnificent views Ama Dablam with trek head to Zongla and we pass the Cho La Pass and continues through to Gokyo Lake via Thangnak. The Gokyo Peak (5480m) ascent is the one of the tourist attraction of this circuit, we have incredible scenery, including magnificent views of Everest (8848m), Makalu  (8,485m), Cho Oyo (8153m) and Lhotse (8511m) finally reach the Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Ri then return back down to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu. Alliance Adventure Pvt. Ltd. Arranges the trekking to this region, the whole year round, however the best times to have trekking are March, April, May, and September, October, and November.

Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft) and transfer to Hotel then visit Alliance Adventure Pvt. Ltd will brief about your trip Gokyo Lake, Cho La Pass & Everest Base Camp. Overnight at Hotel – Included Dinner

Day 02: Flight to Lukla Airport then trek to Phakding

Flight from Kathmandu Domestic Airport to Lukla airport (2840m/9,315ft) about 30/35 minutes flight then trek to Phakding (2610m/8,560ft) 3 hours OR Monjo (2,835m/9,299ft) 5 hours. You will catch a glimpse of some great mountains such as Nupla (5,885m/19,302ft) above Kongde Ridge, Kusum Kang (6367m appears on the right a little later. All along you will be following the northern (left) bank of the Dudh Kosi River. It is important to take these first few days slowly to enable your body to acclimatize and to enjoy the passing scenery and culture. Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft) 6 to 7 hours. Namche Bazaar is one of biggest market town in Everest region as Acclimatization place of trekking and expedition. Today begins on the level ground, relative to the environment in which you are! You will cross the river on a high suspension bridge and begin to climb up to Monjo (2,835m) and on to the gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park Entrance in place to protect and preserve this beautiful environment. There is a good rest stop on the way up to where you will see people gathered, admiring the first real chance to see Everest in the distance. On the way up today, you will be rewarded with views of Kusum Kangaru, Thamserku, Konde-Ri and Tawache Peak than we reach Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 04: Rest and Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar

Rest and Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar. Today your Guides will take you to Visitor Center of headquarter Sagarmatha National Park where we can observe an assortment of things related to the first Everest ascendance, Sherpa culture and learn about the various plants and animals life of the Everest region. Everest view Hotel (3,880m/12,727ft) which is the highest 5star Hotel at high altitude in the world. Namche Bazaar is the main center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, Internet, cafes, shops, restaurants, a bakery and a colorful market each Friday evening and Saturday. Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 05: Trek to Tengboche Monastery

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche Monastery  (3870m/12,694ft) 5/6 hours. Today’s journey starts with excellent views of Ama Dablam and Everest view along the trail than Sanasa descend to Phunki Thanga where is it takes 2-hour climb to Tengboche Monastery, is one of the biggest Monasteries in Solu Khumbu region.   Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 06: Trek to Pheriche

Trek from Tangboche Monastery to Pheriche (4,244m/13,921ft) 5  to 6 hours. After breakfast trail leads to Imja Khola (River) with great views of Ama Dablam and Kantaga  the highest year-round settlement in the valley and oldest Gomba in Khumbu.  Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 07: Rest and Acclimatization in Pheriche

Rest and Acclimatization in Pheriche after short hiking and enjoy the outstanding mountain views, particularly the north face of Ama Dablam and Lhotse-Nuptse ridge. There are several walk options enabling your body to acclimatization and visit to Himalayan Recuse Association and know about what’s the mountain sickness by international volunteer Doctor’s will brief you about the high altitude sickness. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 08: Trek to Dzon La

Trek from Pheriche to Dzon La (4,710m/15,450ft) 5 hours. Today mostly all the way trek through to Dzon La and catching mountain high altitude, very thin air in your body that’s why you have to keep slow walk with keep long breathing. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 09: Trek to Gokyo Lake via Cho La Pass and Thangnak

Trek from Dzon La to Gokyo Lake (4,790m/15,712ft) via Cho La Pass (5,367m/17,700ft) 8 to 10 hours.  Today trekking is the challenging with long walking because of Cho La Pass. The trek star early in the morning at 4:30 to 5 am from your lodge, The trail leads climb up to Pass and along the walking the snow mountain surrounded you. The Pass middle of way small very deep ice lake you have to follow the guide-way and after the pass, you have to walk one by one because of the rocky area around 30 minutes then continues. After lunch again walking together with guide on Gokyo Glacier  and trek through along the beautiful lakes in Gokyo. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 10: Hike to Gokyo Ri and Rest in Lodge

Early breakfast and hike to Gokyo Ri (5380m/17,647ft) 2 to 3 hours from Lodge summit to peak you will see one of the amazing spectacular Himalayan views surrounded you including Mt. Everest (highest peak in the world), Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho Oyu, Ngozumpa Glacier (which is a longest glacier in Nepal), Taujun Lake and along the Gokyo ri small hamlet stone houses and one of the highest settlements in the world.  back to Lodge than rest.  Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 11: Trek to Mong - La - Danda

Trek from Gokyo Lake to Mong-La -Danda (3,580m/12,070ft) 6 to 7 hours. The trekking following Gokyo lake 3rd, 2nd ,1st lake and walking through Dhud khosi river, Marchhermo, Dole and ancient historical Chorten stand at center of the settlements of Mong La Danda. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 12: Trek to Monjo

Trek from Mong-La-Danda to Monjo (2,835m/9,299ft) 5 to 6 hours. After breakfast, the trail walking downtown to sanasa before you encounter the scenic walk back into Namche Bazaar and again walk downhill to the Monjo Village. Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 13: Trek to Lukla Airport

Trek from Monjo to Lukla airport (2,840m/9,315ft) 5 hours. Today is your last day trekking with your Guide and Potter and you can invite Dinner for celebration of your successful Cho La Pass and Gokyo Ri trekking. Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 14: Flight back to Kathmandu and Farewell Dinner

Early morning Flight from Lukla airport to Kathmandu Domestic Airport and Alliance Adventure staff will come to pick-up. After that transfer to Hotel and enjoy the Hot shower with rest as free and Farewell Dinner. Overnight at Hotel – Included Dinner and Breakfast

Day 15: Departure your Destination

Departure to Tribhuvan International Airport. Today is last minutes shopping packing and Alliance Adventure drive you to the airport for your onward destination to your own country – Included Breakfast

  • Strongly advised not to go wandering unless in large group (the “poor” men would have to suffer at the hands of the ladies who would want to shop), Always be aware of your surroundings.
  • Do not / not give money to street children/beggars.
  • Entrance to some temples may be prohibited for non-Hindus & Leather articles are prohibited inside temple precinct.
  • Windproof outer jacket and warm down-filled jacket if afraid of cold.
  • Comfortable trousers for men and loose skirts for women during the day.
  • Gloves, hat or cap, sunglasses, sunblock, lip balm, etc, to avoid sunburn as the sun in high altitude can be quite intense.
  • Lightweight trekking shoes, warm woolen/ thermal socks. (If one is afraid of cold, otherwise, plain ordinary socks will suffice.
  • Thermal undergarments this is for the night which might be a bit cold, otherwise, tracksuit should suffice.
  • Flashlight and spare batteries.
  • You most start your train yourself when you are free or once a week or once a day hiking in your country mountain or up and down 2/3 hours morning OR evening.
  • We need your flight detail and passport photocopy and passport size photo for the trekking permit and Tims cards.
  • 50% deposit into the company account and rest of balance whence you arrive in Kathmandu airport then clear the payment in the office.
  • Nepal visa can apply on arrival visa in Kathmandu airport immigration, and you need to stay your hotel name or local agency details. Nepal visa charge for 15 Days USD25 and for 30 Days USD 40.
