Gokyo Ri Short Trek is popular in the sense that you will have a chance to tour around the mountain valley and the Lake called Gokyo Lake, located 4,750 m height, means you will explore the wide range of scenario of majestic Himalayas and build a close relationship with nature. Gokyo Ri Short Trek route also shares the great Himalayan views including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Cho Oyu, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku among others. Besides, magnificent views of the Himalayas, you also can enjoy with a different blend of the cultures and traditions of Sherpa indigenous community living in the high land. Gokyo valley and Gokyo Ri Short Trek lie in the east of the Everest base camp. The trekking to this area offers an excellent view of mountains lying on the Everest Himalayan range.

Gokyo Ri Short Trek is perhaps the most amazing trekking route because the trail follows closest to the Everest base camp. Gokyo valley trekking is an alternative route to traditional trails to the Everest base camp. Gokyo Ri is one of the excellent viewpoints in Everest region. The Gokyo Ri Short Trek starts from a gateway to Lukla, then the trails follow along with the bank of Dudh Koshi River. After having two night stay for acclimatization at Namche, the beautiful Sherpa village, it reaches to Gokyo lake, Gokyo Ri and have the views of the Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Cho-Oyu, Mt. Makalu, and other neighboring Himalayas lying around and finally making excursion to the whole around, you will return back to Lukla and then Kathmandu. PACKAGE DETAILS

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft) and transfer to Hotel, then visit Alliance Adventure will brief about your trip Gokyo Ri Short Trek. Overnight at Hotel – Included Dinner

Day 02: Flight to Lukla Airport then Trek to Phakding

Flight from Kathmandu Domestic Airport to Lukla airport (2840m/9,315ft) about 30/35 minutes flight then trek to Phakding (2610m/8,560ft) 3 hours OR Monjo (2,835m/9,299ft) 5 hours. You will catch a glimpse of some great mountains such as Nupla (5,885m/19,302ft) above Kongde Ridge, Kusum Kang (6,367m) appears on the right a little later. All along you will be following the northern (left) bank of the Dudh Kosi River. It is important to take these first few days slowly to enable your body to acclimatize and to enjoy the passing scenery and culture. Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,283ft) 6 to 7 hours. Namche Bazaar is one of the biggest market towns in Everest region as Acclimatization place of trekking and expedition. Today trek begins on the level ground, relative to the environment in which you are! You will cross the river on a high suspension bridge and begin to climb up to Monjo (2,835m) and onto the gateway to the Sagarmatha National Park Entrance. There is a good rest stop on the way up to where you will see people gathered, admiring the first real chance to see Everest in the distance. On the way up today, you will be rewarded with views of Kusum Kangaru, Thamserku, Konde-Ri and Tawache Peak than we reach Namche Bazaar. Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 04: Rest and Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar

Rest and Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar. Today your Guides will take you to Visitor Center of headquarter Sagarmatha National Park where we can observe an assortment of things related to the first Everest ascendance, Sherpa culture and learn about the life of various plants and animals of the Everest region. Everest view Hotel (3,880m/12,727ft) which is the highest 5star Altitude Hotel in the world lies here. Namche Bazaar is the main center of the Everest (Khumbu) region and has government offices, Internet cafes, shops, restaurants, a bakery and a colorful market each Friday evening and Saturday. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 05: Trek to Dole

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Dole (4,200m/13,776ft) 6 to 7 hours. Ancient historical Chorten stands at the center of the settlements of  Mong La Danda and after lunch trek through to Dole. Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 06: Trek to Machhermo

Trek from Dole to Machhermo (4,470m/14,662ft) 4 to 5 hours. Machhermo has Himalayan Rescue Association and knows what’s the mountain high altitude sickness and international volunteer Doctors will brief you about the high-altitude sickness.  Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 07: Trek to Gokyo Lake

Trek from Machhermo to Gokyo Lake (4,790m/15,712ft) 5 hours. Amazing natural lakes and views along the trek. Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 08: Hike to Gokyo Ri

Early breakfast and Hike to Gokyo Ri (5380m/17,647ft) 3 hours from the Lodge summit reach to peak and from the peak will be seeing one of the amazing spectacular Himalayan views, snow covering mountains including Mt. Everest (which one is the highest peak in the world), Lakes and Glaciers. Rest in Gokyo Lake.  Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 09: Helicopter flight from Gokyo Lake to Lukla

Helicopter flight from Gokyo Lake to Lukla via visit Tyangboche Monastery.  After breakfast flight by Helicopter to Lukla. The Helicopter one of the very different adventures than trekking in your life, along the Helicopter will fly over the Himalayan range with following the rocky moraine path with views of the Glacier and Dudh Kosi. The Helicopter will stop at Tyangboche Monastery short visit and photography. Overnight at Lodge – Included Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Day 10: Flight back to Kathmandu from Lukla and Farewell Dinner

Early morning Flight from Lukla airport to Kathmandu Domestic Airport and Alliance Adventure staff will come to pick-up you then transfer to Hotel and enjoy the Hot shower with rest as free after successful Gokyo Ri Short Trek. Overnight at Hotel – Included Breakfast and Dinner

Day 11: Departure to Tribhuvan International Airport

Departure to Tribhuvan International Airport. Today is last day and last minutes shopping, packing and Alliance Adventure drive to the airport for your onward destination to your home country. Included Breakfast

  • No flush stuff-jewelry, valuables etc.
  • Strongly advised not to go wandering unless in large group (the “poor” men would have to Suffer at the hands of the ladies who would want to shop), Always be aware of your surroundings.
  • Entrance to some temples may be prohibited for non-Hindus & Leather articles are prohibited inside temple precinct.
  • Windproof outer jacket and warm down-filled jacket if afraid of cold.
  • Comfortable trousers for men and loose skirts for women during the day.
  • Gloves, hat or cap, sunglasses, sunblock, lip balm, etc. To avoid sunburn as the sun in high altitude can be quite intense.
  • Lightweight trekking shoes, warm woolen/ thermal socks. (If one is afraid of cold, otherwise, plain ol’ ordinary socks will suffice.
  • Thermal undergarments this is for the night which might be a bit cold, otherwise, tracksuit should suffice.
  • Flashlight and spare batteries.
  • You must start your train yourself when you are free or once a week once a day hiking in your country mountain or up and down 2/3 hours morning OR evening.
  • We need your flight detail and passport photocopy and Passport size photo for the trekking permit and Tims cards.
  • 50% per person deposit to company account and rest of balance when you arrive at Kathmandu airport clear the payment in the office.
  • Nepal visa can apply on arrival visa in Kathmandu airport immigration. You need to stay your Hotel name or local agency details. Nepal visa charge for 15 Days USD25 and for 30 Days USD 40.
