Langtang and Gosainkunda Trekking is considered to be one of the most demanded and well-loved trekking trails in Nepal. It is situated in the north of Kathmandu. This trekking offers a multitude of trekking destinations. Langtang valley lies at the south of the Tibetan border and it is a sandwiched between the main Himalayan range to the north and a slightly lower range of snowy peaks to the south. Langtang Lirung (7246m) lies to the north; Gang Chhenpo(6388m) and Naya Kanga Ri (5846m) lies to the south and Dorje Lakpa(6966m) at the east of the valley. Langtang Valley is primarily known for having the trekking in the remotest part to the amazing valley of Langtang region, where you can have an exciting moment at high mountain lakes Goshainkunda and the beautiful valley ’Helambu’ and you can also visit Langtang National park.
Langtang and Gosainkunda trekking begin with the drive along the Trisuli River north of Kathmandu, through Trishuli Bazaar; then you will reach to Dhunche and finally reach Syabrubensi, a Sherpa village, and farmlands of the people. Many villagers are originally from Tibet. Once this route was an important trading route with Tibet, therefore, most of the villagers and peoples here still are involved in a trade. On the way of trekking, you also can have a trekking through Langtang National Park as it is located at the very edge of the Park. Similarly, you also have chance to see some wild animals and birds such as monkeys, musk deer, Pika and the national bird of Nepal, the colorful Danphe then you will continue trekking to Kyangjin Gompa (3,740 m), in between, you will cross many rivers along a gorge and pass through oak and rhododendron forests and glacial moraine. After a overnight stay in Gompa, you will visit the local yak cheese factory and have a view of the glaciers, which is also a gateway to Tibet and return back to Syabru village and make a trip to Sing Gompa, a place where the holy lake Gosainkund is situated and we cross the Llaurebena Pass (4610m) and continue south leaving the Langtang region and reach Helambu valley and subsequently at Chisapani and return back to Kathmandu
