Upper Mustang trekking and Sarebung Peak (6,346m/20,815ft) Climbing is one of the most mysterious trekking with peak climbing in Nepal. It has been one of the popular and most loved trekking with peak climbing destinations in the country. Upper Mustang region lies in the western part of Nepal and is officially the name of the district having a Tibet like region. It is relatively easy trekking along the permitted route to Lo Manthang. It was open in October 1991. Mustang is situated on the head of Kali Gandaki River. The team of the Alliance Adventure has long been organizing Upper Mustang trek and Sarebung Peak Climb to the area and it is one of the authorized trekking agencies. Sarebung Peak climbing the trail through via Upper Mustang region thus it is the combined package of Upper Mustang trekking and Sarebung Peak climbing trails exist to Damodar Himal near to Damodar Kunda.

The Upper Mustang and Sarebung Peak climbing begins across the foothills of the Himalayas from Pokhara, whereby you can reach either by flight or bus from Kathmandu. The flight from you Pokhara to Jomsom, where Upper Mustang and Sarebung Peak climbing begins. The trail enter the spectacular Kali Gandaki river valley, the deepest gorge in the world. The mighty Kali Gandaki River passes between the mountains of Annapurna I and Dhaulagiri, both over 8000m. The Kali Gandaki valley was the main trading route with Tibet and the system of lodges and tea-houses here is well developed. Thakali ethnic people who inhabit in this area are renowned for their hospitality and for being obliging hosts and finally you will make excursion to the whole area and return to Besisahar then drive to Kathmandu.

PACKAGE DETAILS

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu

Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft) and transfer to Hotel, then Alliance Adventure Pvt. Ltd will brief about your trip to Upper Mustang. Overnight at Hotel – BB.

Day 02: Drive to Pokhara

Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara (9,50m/3,116ft) 6 to 7 hours. During the journey you will see the countryside of lifestyle, that’s offering green hills, rivers, farms and beautiful sceneries. Overnight at Hotel – Included Breakfast

Day 03: Flight to Jomsom Airport than Trek to Kagbeni

Flight from Pokhara to Jomsom Airport (2,713m/8,899ft) 25/30 minutes then trek to Kagbeni (2,800m/9,184ft) 3 to 4 hours: Early morning flight to Jomsom and during the flight you will catch the spectaculars views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Fishtail and Annapurna range as snow peaks. When you land in Jomsom you will see a famous of Apple’s garden and trek through to Kagbeni following the Kali Gandaki river bank. The trail leads beautiful landscape and village of Eaklibatti as majestic views of Nilgiri and Tukuche Peaks. Kagbeni is gate-way to Upper Mustang trek. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 04: Trek to Chele

Trek from Kagbeni to Chele (3,050m/10,004ft) 5 to 6 hours: Today the trek will be through the Upper Mustang after formalities of trekking permit in Check Point. The trail leads along the side river bank of Kali Gandaki. You have to walk on strong wind and blowing sands and then you will reach Tanbe village which has red and white-washed houses, buckwheat, barley fields, and apple orchards. During the trek you will catch sceneries of colorful farm lands, spectaculars views then cross the Kali Gandaki River before reaching your destination. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D.

Day 05: Trek to Shyanbochen

Trek from Chele to Shyanbochen (3,475m/11,398ft) 6 to 7 hours: After breakfast the trek leads a bit harder than day before because today you are crossing tow passes of Taklam Lam Pass (3,624m/11,887ft) and Dajori La Pass (3,735m/12,250ft), during your trekking you will see spectaculars views pass by Ramchung cave which is the most sacred places in Mustang. Then we move toward Samar village and continues following footstep to the Shyanbochen village. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 06: Trek to Ghami

Trek from Shyanbochen to Ghami (3,520m/11,545ft) 5 to 6 hours:  Today the trek start through Yamada La Pass (3,850m/12,628ft). Along the pass you will catch Chortens, beautiful villages, tea-houses and very popular forest, barley fields then you will reach Nyi pass (4,010m/13,152ft) and a trail leads to Ghami which is the biggest and beautiful village in Lo region surrounded by fields. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 07: Trek to Tsarang

Trek from Ghami to Tsarang (3,620m/11,873ft) 5 to 6 hours: Today the trail is a bit slippery and you have to walk slowly and carefully until you cross the suspension bridge over  Ghami Khola. Then trek towards Tsarang La Pass (3,820m/12,529ft) and along the trekking, you’ll pass through beautiful mani walls then you will reach Tsarang village. Tsarang chorten is the large red stupa as a middle of the landscape and further down the Monastery. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 08: Trek to Lo manthang

Trek from Tsarang to Lo Manthang (3,730m/12,234ft) 4 to 5 hours: After breakfast, trial leads by chorten, canyon and cross a river before Lo La Pass (3,950m/12,956ft). The views from the pass are really amazing and beautiful Lo Mangthang village surrounded by landscape walls village. Along the trek, you will enjoy spectaculars views of Nilgiri, Annapurna I, Tilicho, Bhrikuti Peak and Damodar Kunda. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 09: Rest in Lo-Mangthang

Rest and Explore the Lomanthang village. Today after late breakfast, hike to Tingkhar village which is wonderful village located at north-west of Lo Mangthang. After that exploring to 3 major Gompa’s  i.e Thupchen, Chhoeda and Jhumpa gompas. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 10: Trek to Drakmar

Trek from Lo Mangthang to Drakmar (3,810m/12,496ft) 5 to 6 hours: Today the trail will be through to the Gyakar village, visit Ghar gompa which one is old century house and has a beautiful painting on the rocks. According to saying anyone who makes a wish in the Gompa there wish will be fulfilled. Then your trek continues towards the Drakmar. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 11: Trek to Ghiling

Trek from Drakmar to Ghiling (3,806m/12,484ft) 5 to 6 hours: Today after early breakfast you will start to trek early because of the strong wind blowing from 10/11am to 3/4pm. The trail will be through dry Highland and fields before you reach Ghiling. Today you will have good experience of your lifetime walking into the strong blowing-wind which hit on your face. Ghiling is dry Highland from where you will catch very nice views of Mt. Dhaulagiri which one is the 7th highest peak in the world and Nilgiri. After checking into the lodge your guide will take around to explore into Ghiling Village. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 12: Trek to Chhuksang

Trek from Ghiling to Chhuksang (3,050m/10,004ft) 5 to 6 hours: After breakfast, the trail leads before going up to Lo Manthang and along the trek toward to Chhuksang you will walk under the spectaculars views of Himalayan with a small town of villages. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 13: Trek to Jomsom

Trek from Chhuksang to Jomsom (2,700m/8,856ft) 6 to 7 hours: Today is your last day trekking in Mustang trails and the trek you will be going to join to Annapurna Circuit trail as Kagbeni too then trek continues towards Jomsom and celebrating an end of your trekking in your lodge. Overnight at Lodge – B.L.D

Day 14: Flight back to Pokhara

Flight from Jomsom to Pokhara 25 to 30 minutes. After breakfast, you will move to Jomsom for flight. During the flight, you will catch the spectaculars views of Himalayan. After checking into the Hotel then we will take you for sightseeing beautiful lake city Pokhara. Overnight at Hotel – BB

Day 15: Drive back to Kathmandu

Drive from Pokhara to Kathmandu – 200km 6 to 7 hours. The journey through the Prithvi highway road passing by terraces, streams, rivers, local settlements, hills and along the Marshyndi and Trishuli rivers. Check the Hotel rest and free. Overnight at Hotel – BB

Day 16: Sightseeing in Kathmandu and Farewell Dinner

Sightseeing world heritage site at Kathmandu Durbar Square – Kumari House, Swayambhunath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple and Farewell by offering you Nepali Culture Dinner. Overnight at Hotel – BB

Day 17: Departure your Destination

Departure to International Airport. Today is last minute shopping, packing and Alliance Adventure send to airport for your onward destination your own country.

  • Entrance to some temples may be prohibited for non-Hindus & Leather articles are prohibited inside temple precinct.
  • Windproof outer jacket and warm down-filled jacket if afraid of cold.
  • Comfortable trousers for men and loose skirts for women during the day.
  • Gloves, hat or cap, sunglasses, sunblock, lip balm, etc. To avoid sunburn as the sun in high altitude can be quite intense.
  • Masi-Guard Insect Repellent Spray and Muscle-ache cream.
  • Lightweight trekking waterproof shoes, warm woolen/ thermal socks. (If one is afraid of cold, otherwise, plain or ordinary socks will be sufficient.
  • Thermal undergarments this is for the night which might be a bit cold, otherwise, tracksuit should suffice.
  • Flashlight and spare batteries.
  • You must start to train yourself when you are free once a week once or one day hiking in Mountain in your country or up and down 2/3 hours morning OR evening.
  • We need your flight details and documents of your passport photocopy and Passport size photo for the trekking permit and Tims cards.
  • 50% per person deposit to company account and rest of balance when you arrive at Kathmandu airport clear the payment in the office.
  • Nepal visa can apply on arrival gate in Kathmandu airport immigration. Nepal visa charge for 15 Days USD25 and for 30 Days USD 40.
